Training Group Management

Let’s look at the ins and outs of managing your Training Groups and Teams.

Create a new Training Group/Team

Navigate to your Training Groups tab located on the left side Tool Menu.

Then select “New Team”.

Input your Team name and start inviting other coaches, if you have them.

Edit / Remove Team

Need to change the team name, quickly add more coaches, or remove the team?

You can find the options for all these by clicking the edit button next to the team name.

Removing a team will not delete the team, it will move the team into an “archived teams” menu that allows you to restore the team if you ever need it.

Team Settings

Now that your team is created, it’s time to start customizing and managing your team.

Navigate to the Team Settings button.

  • Coaches

This is one more place where you can add coaches, but this is the only place where you can remove coaches.

Note: If a coach is also linked to your subscription, removing them here does not remove them from your subscription. To learn more about linking and unlinking coaches from a subscription, check out our information about account and subscription management HERE.

When a coach is invited you’ll see one of two icon:

  1. YELLOW BELL - this means they have been invited but have not yet used the link and set up their account.
  2. GREEN CHECK - this means they have accepted the invite and have an active Commit account.
  • Athletes

Here you can add and remove athletes. You can choose to upload a roster in CSV format, manually add multiple athletes at once, or add one at a time.

Adding an email address for an athlete is optional. By adding an email address you are allowing the athlete to create a free account to view workouts and their training analytics.

When an athlete is invited you’ll see one of three icon:

  1. PLUS SIGN - this means you’ve added an athlete, but there is no email address attached to it.
  2. YELLOW BELL - this means they have been invited but have not yet used the link and set up their account.
  3. GREEN CHECK - this means they have accepted the invite and now have an active athlete account.

You can also transfer an athlete to a new team. Just select the athlete(s) you want to transfer and then use the “Transfer Teams” button in the top right to select the team you want to move them onto. You can also decide if they stay on the current team.

  • Sub-Groups

This is where you can break your team down into sub-groups.You can add athletes to these sub-groups by opening the sub-group or by clicking on the athlete’s name under the Athlete’s Tab.

For example:
Distance

Sprint

  • Intensities

This is where you can create a rating system for your set’s intensity.  You can update the default ones and add more.

For example if you use USA swimming training zones, this is where you would include EN1, EN2, SP1, SP 2, REC, etc. Or if you user the color system, this where you can add "White," "Pink," "Red," "Purple," etc.

  • Strokes

This is where you can add your own terminology, language, or shorthands for any of your strokes. The defaults cannot be changed, but feel free to add new ones.  Just because we have a default for Back Stroke, doesn’t mean you can’t add a new one (or multiple ones) for your own version of it.

  • Types

This is where you can add your own terminology, language, or shorthands for any of your types. The defaults cannot be changed, but feel free to add new ones. Just because we have a default for Drill, doesn’t mean you can’t add a new one (or multiple ones) for your own version of it.

  • Courses

This is where you’ll be able to add the different pool courses you’ll be training in. When you create a workout you'll be able to choose from this list of courses.

  •  Equipment

This is where you can add any type of equipment you might have at your disposal for training days.

Team Branding

You also have the option to add your club's logo.

Under the Team Branding option on the tool menu, just drag and drop or click to upload a logo file.   This will add the logo onto any reports you generate, files you export, or workouts you email.
