Alert settings: what members receive, and how

Last updated 2026-08-28
Coaches · Communication Set your team's default alerts by channel, and how each person can customize their own.

What’s covered

The matrix covers three groups of alerts, each with a toggle per channel:

  • Communication: direct messages, new bulletin board posts, and discussion replies on boards, meets, events, and jobs.
  • Meet & team activity: meet invitations, entries finalized, new jobs available, new program available.
  • Billing: new invoice, failed payment, past due invoice.

Step by step

Team defaults (coaches)

  1. Open Settings → Communication.
  2. In Alert delivery defaults, check or uncheck each alert type per channel. These apply to everyone who hasn’t customized their own.
  3. The SMS column is listed but not currently configurable; In-App, Email, and Push are the working channels.

Personal settings (everyone)

  1. Parents and athletes open Settings → Communication in their own account and adjust Your alert settings the same way.

Common questions

A parent gets too many emails. They can tune notification alerts per type in their own settings and keep in-app or push instead. Direct messages from coaches are the exception: those always reach the family’s inbox and email so nothing critical is missed.

A parent gets nothing at all. Check their personal settings first (their overrides beat your defaults), then confirm their email is right on the roster.

Does turning off an alert hide the content? No. Invoices, posts, and messages still appear in the app. Alerts only control the notification.
