Before you start
You’ll need the login for your domain registrar. That’s the company you pay for the domain each year. Not sure who that is? Search your email for “domain renewal” or look the domain up at lookup.icann.org.
If your domain also runs your team’s email, tell us before you switch anything so your mail keeps working. And if the domain currently points at a website you still need, save anything important off it first.
Step by step
- Open your Getting Started list and find the Connect your website domain step. It lists the nameservers for your domain.
- Log in at your registrar and find the nameserver settings for your domain (sometimes called “custom nameservers” or “change nameservers”).
- Replace the existing nameservers with the ones from your Getting Started step. Registrar-specific walkthroughs below.
- Save and give it time. Nameserver changes usually land within a few hours, sometimes up to a day.
- When the step shows connected, your site is live on your domain with its security certificate handled automatically.
This one is a web task. Use team.commitswimming.com in a browser.

Common questions
How long until it works? Usually a few hours. If it’s been a full day, double-check the nameservers or email us.
Will my email break? Not if you tell us about it before switching. Mail settings ride along when we know they exist.
We already have a website at that address. Pointing the domain at Commit replaces what visitors see there. Move anything you need first.
