Step by step
-
Open Meets → Entries and click New Meet.
-
Events file: upload the .ev3 or .zip from the meet host and Commit builds the event list for you. No file? Click next and add events later.
-
Meet information: name, dates, location, course.
-
Invited swimmers: pick who’s invited. Only invited families see the meet.
-
Review and create.
-
Then open the meet’s Information & Settings and set up registration with the pencil icons on each card:
- Registration Settings: Permissions decides who picks events: “Parents & coaches” lets families enter their own swimmers, “Coaches only” means families still commit or decline but you do the entries. Set the Dates registration is open, the Commitment type (by session or by entire meet; by-session shows families a checkbox per session), and whether Commitment notes are allowed. Each session also has a Parents checkbox; uncheck it and that session becomes coach-managed, visible to families but only committable by you.
- Entry Rules: the Entry Method (“Convert to event course”, “Use only event course”, or “Use any course”), the age up date (all age math uses it), the eligible times date (older times stop counting as best times for this meet), an optional qualifying time override that swaps the file’s cutoffs for a time standard level, and entry caps per session and per meet. You can also limit which meets’ times count using meet tags, and control whether parents may pick among times or convert them.
- Meet Information: your notes for families plus Meet Documents, up to five PDFs (the meet announcement, the timeline) that families see on their meet page.
- Billing Settings: your meet fees. See meet billing.
Families now get their meet invitation (per alert settings) and can commit and pick events until registration closes. Watch it all come in under the meet’s Entries section.
The Commit Swimming - Team app has the full meets section. Upcoming meets sit right in your Events tab (tap one to work it), and More → Meets has the full list, where you can create a meet too.
Common questions
Where do I get the events file? From the meet host or the meet announcement. It’s usually a .ev3 or a .zip containing one.
Can I change events after creating the meet? Yes, in the meet’s Events section. You can edit events or replace the events file, and exact matches keep their existing entries.
Families can’t see the meet. Check that their swimmers are on the invited list and that registration is open.
How do I delete a meet? The meet’s three-dot menu has Delete Meet. It takes the meet, its entries, and its commitments out of the app and can’t be undone from your side. Uploaded results are separate and stay.
Old times keep showing up as seed times. Set the eligible times date in Entry Rules; times swum before it stop appearing for this meet.
