Step by step
Add times
- Open Reports → Top Times & Standards and click Add times. The same window opens from Enter by hand, next to New results under Meets → Results.
- Under Meet, pick New meet and fill in Meet name, Date and Course (SCY, SCM or LCM). The date has to be in the past. Or pick Existing meet and choose one of your team’s meets.
- Fill in a row for each swim: Swimmer, Event, Time and
Age (their age at the swim). Click Add row, or press Enter on
the last row, for another one.
- Names match your active, inactive and archived swimmers. Inactive and archived swimmers get a tag so you know who’s who.
- When a swimmer has a birth date, the age fills in for you.
- Have a spreadsheet? Copy the rows (name, event, time, and an age if you have it) and paste them into a Swimmer box. Commit fills one row per line. Times like 1:02.34, 62.34 and 1.02.34 all work, and so do events like “100 Free”, “100FR” or “50 back”.
- Click Save (it shows how many times are ready, like Save 12 times). Rows that still need something stay in the window, with a note at the bottom saying what.
Swimmers who aren’t on your roster
- A name that matches nobody gets a New past swimmer tag. Pick their Sex, and add a Birth date if you know it. Skip the birth date if you only know their age. Saving adds them to your Archived list, so your roster stays clean.
- Same name as someone on your roster, but a different person? Click the name chip and pick Add as a different past swimmer.
- Adding past swimmers needs edit access to People. Without it, those rows show “Not on your roster”.
Add a missing time to a record
- Open Reports → Records and click a record.
- Keep View other top times for this event and click Next.
- Below the list, click Add a missing time. The Add times window opens with that event already picked. This works for individual events.
Adding times is on the web. The Manual tag shows in the Commit app too, on Top times, swimmer best times and record boards.
What happens when you save
- The swims count toward each swimmer’s best times, your Top Times and your record boards. Your website’s Top Times update too.
- A swim that beats a team record shows up as a pending record for you to Approve or Reject on record boards.
- Every hand-entered time carries a Manual tag on Top Times, the swimmer’s best times, record boards and the Entry report. Hover it (or tap it on a phone) to see who added it and when.
- A time well under your team record gets a warning in its row, like “4.2s faster than the team record. Typo?”. It still saves, so give it a second look first.
Common questions
Who can add times? Coaches with edit access to Meets or Reports. Enter by hand on Meets → Results needs edit access to Meets.
Can I add relays? No. Add individual swims only.
Where do hand-entered meets show up? They stay with your team. They’re never shared with your LSC or other teams.
I typed a best time on a swimmer’s profile. Is that the same thing? Yes. Enter a time manually on a best time saves a hand-entered swim with the same Manual tag. See fix a best time and add legal splits.
We have a results file for that meet. Upload it instead, under upload meet results. Files bring splits and every swimmer at once.
