Add athletes to groups and track who swam what

Coaches · Training Put swimmers in their training group and subgroup, take attendance, and record when someone swims another lane's sets.

Why one group, one subgroup

Attendance and training reports credit a swimmer with their group’s workout and their subgroup’s sets. A swimmer in two groups shows up on two attendance lists every day, and their yardage double-counts. Put them where they actually train; the day-swap tool below handles the exceptions.

Step by step

Add athletes

  1. Open Training → Groups, open the group, and add your athletes to it. Assign each one to their subgroup.
  2. On a team account, you can also do this in bulk from People → Roster with Change training group.

Take attendance

  1. Open the day’s workout and click Attendance. Check swimmers off. See Take attendance for the day-to-day details.

When a swimmer does another subgroup’s sets

  1. Swimmer A normally swims Sprint, but today she jumped in with Distance. On the workout’s attendance, mark her as swimming the Distance sets for the day. Her normal subgroup doesn’t change.
  2. The swap flows through everywhere it should: today’s yardage on her profile is Distance’s, her individual training report reflects the sets she actually swam, and both her attendance history and the team’s attendance report record her as present at practice.

Common questions

A swimmer genuinely trains with two groups. It happens (a senior who also swims masters). Expect them on both attendance lists, and read their individual totals knowing both feeds count.

Do athletes need accounts for attendance? No. Attendance works with just a roster. Accounts matter when you want swimmers to see their workouts.

Where do I see attendance over the season? Reports → Attendance, by group and date range, plus each athlete’s profile.
