Commit Swimming

Commit to a meet and enter events

Last updated 2026-10-05
Parents · Meets Tell your team who's swimming, pick sessions and events, see who qualifies, and find everything about a meet in one place.

Step by step

  1. Upcoming meets are on your dashboard under Upcoming Events the moment you log in. Filter with the Meets, Events and Jobs pills, or turn on Needs my action to see only meets with a swimmer who has not replied, RSVPs you still owe, and volunteer signups that are open with none from your family. The full list is under Meet Signups, with Upcoming and Past tabs.

  2. Each meet shows its dates, the pool, and the “Registration closes” date. Under it is a card per swimmer with a tag: Going, Not going, No reply yet, or Not invited.

  3. Click the card to expand it and answer: Going or Not going. You can change your answer until registration closes.

  4. Teams that commit by session show Session commitments, a checkbox per session. Tick the ones your swimmer can make. A session managed by your coach is greyed out, and sessions that already have entries stay ticked.

  5. Events lists what your swimmer is entered in, with the entry time and, once the coach seeds, the heat and lane. If your team lets families pick events, click Add events or Change events; the picker searches events and tells you how many sit in sessions you did not commit to. Otherwise the line reads Your coach chooses the events.

  6. Messages is where you write to the coach about this meet (“can only make Saturday morning”), when the team allows notes.

  7. Qualifying times is collapsed under the card: it counts how many events your swimmer qualifies for and how many are within 2%, and the table shows each event’s time against the cut with a Qualified, Not qualified, No time or No cut status.

  8. View meet opens the full meet page. Its tabs are Overview, Information (the coach’s notes and documents), My swimmers, Spectator (the meet-day lineup, see find your swimmer’s events), Jobs (when there is a volunteer signup) and Fees.

Common questions

I can commit, but I can’t pick events. That’s a coach-managed meet: families answer yes or no, coaches choose the events. Your swimmer’s card shows the entries as the coaches add them.

I don’t see a meet I know is happening. Your swimmer may not be on the invite list, or registration hasn’t opened. Ask your coach.

The meet says Informational. It’s a meet the team wants you to know about, without entries through Commit. Tap View Meet for the details. Some informational meets still ask for a yes or no.

Can I change events after committing? Yes, until registration closes. After that the buttons are disabled with “Commitment window not active”, and changes go through your coach.

It won’t let me add an event. Usually one of three walls: the session limit is reached (“Maximum entries reached”), your swimmer doesn’t have a qualifying time (“Unable to register for event”), or the event’s session isn’t in your session commitments. The first two need a coach; the third you can fix yourself.

What do the entry fees cost? Entry fees are billed by your club after the meet is set; the meet’s Fees tab shows what’s invoiced. See understanding your invoices.

My swimmer can only make Saturday. If the team set up session-level commitment, tick Saturday and leave Sunday unticked. Otherwise answer Going and leave a note for the coach under Messages.

Where are the volunteer jobs for this meet? On the meet row itself: the volunteer line reads Volunteers needed · Sign up or shows your signups, and expanding the row lets you grab an open slot. The meet page also has a Jobs tab. See sign up for volunteer jobs.
