What can come over
- Roster and families: swimmers, birthdates, groups, parent contact info.
- Results history: meet results files (.sd3/.hy3/.cl2) load through results upload, and we can import past seasons in bulk so best times and records carry over.
- Records: existing record boards can be entered or imported.
- Billing: balances don’t transfer between systems. You start clean: set up payments and your program, and either register families fresh or enroll them yourself.
Step by step
- Export what your old system gives you. From TeamUnify or Active, export the member/roster file. From a spreadsheet operation, a clean sheet with name, birthdate, group, and parent emails is perfect.
- Send it to team@commitswimming.com. We run the import and flag anything odd (duplicate kids, missing birthdates) before it lands.
- Check your roster under People, and spot-check a few families’ contact info.
- Follow the Getting Started checklist in the app for the rest: groups, program, staff, and settings, in order.
- When billing is ready, invite your families. Time the switch to a billing boundary (like the 1st) so nobody gets double-billed across systems.
This one is a web task. Use team.commitswimming.com in a browser.
Common questions
How long does it take? Roster imports usually land within a day or two of sending the file. The bigger timeline is yours: most teams run the switch over a week or two, ending at a billing date.
Can you import our meet results history? Yes, send the results files and we’ll load past seasons so best times and records are complete.
We’re mid-season. That’s fine and common. The in-app checklist has a mid-season path built for exactly this.
