Write a workout

Last updated 2026-08-28
Coaches · Training Create a workout, assign it to training groups, and share or print it.

Step by step

  1. Open Training → Workouts and click New Workout.

  2. Pick the date, time, and the training group swimming it. A workout can cover more than one group.

  3. Write your sets in the editor, the way you’d write them on a whiteboard (4x100 free @ 1:30). Commit reads distances, strokes, intervals, and intensity words and totals everything for you. A bare 300 defaults to freestyle swim. The writing guide shows how much the parser really understands.

  4. Splitting the practice? A # plus a subgroup’s name marks where their sets start; see multi-group workouts.

  5. Click Finish. The workout shows on the Training list, and the Stats panel beside the editor has been totaling by stroke, type, and intensity the whole time.

After it’s written

  • Share gives you a public link and social options; Print makes the deck copy.
  • Notes keeps your comments about how practice went (visible to just you, coaches, or everyone, per note).
  • Attendance is where you take attendance.
  • Show to swimmers unlocks it in their app when you’re ready.

Common questions

Can assistant coaches write workouts? Yes, anyone with the Training permission. Use the Creator filter on the list to see whose is whose.

Can I reuse a workout? Duplicate on the workout’s menu copies it to a new date and group. For single sets you reuse weekly, save them as favorites.

Does the team see what I write? Swimmers and parents can see workout history only if you allow it under Control what parents see.
